Klarna: Pay everywhere with browser extension

Things are getting tight for PayPal and Co.: Klarna has launched a new browser extension that can be used to pay in all online stores worldwide. The stores themselves don't even have to support Klarna. In addition, customers can expect discounts.

The Swedish payment service provider Klarna and partner of Smartstore has recently significantly expanded its app and now offers the new functions even without a smartphone. Via the just launched browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, customers can pay for their orders in any online store worldwide via invoice - completely independent of whether Klarna is officially supported by the merchant or not.

The browser extension creates a one-time card for online purchases, just like in the app. This virtual Visa card handles the payment process in combination with Klarna. In addition, the extension offers the possibility to save items in collections. If the product becomes cheaper, customers receive a notification (source: press release).

If there is a discount for the desired product, the Klarna browser extension will search for it. Coupon codes are then automatically added to the shopping cart. The extension also supports special promotions like cashbacks. Customers can also set a shopping limit to avoid straining their finances too much.
