Last week, US tech giant Meta (Facebook, Instragram, Whatsapp) unveiled its latest version of artificial intelligence (AI), Llama 2, in a Blogpost jointly unveiled with Microsoft.
Llama 2 has been used with an um 40 percent larger data set than its predecessor version and should therefore provide better results. Interestingly, Meta has Microsoft as a "preferred partner" for Llama 2 selected. Microsoft itself had taken a stake in ChatGPT maker OpenAI a few months ago. The Llama model, like the OpenAI models, is thus available via Microsoft's Azure cloud offering.
Meta's more open, open-source approach to AI development promises new innovations. In contrast to other providers such as Open AI, Llama's 2 the complete inner workings are provided, so that it can also be customized and used by researchers and developers.
Market observers expect this development to significantly boost the generative AI market over the next twelve months. In the meantime, Smartstore announced, integrating generative AI into its software to help store operators in their day-to-day operations, streamline processes and provide a better, more personalized experience for store customers.
