OpenAI, developer of the well-known ChatGPT and other AI models, unveiled a new AI model this week on 6. November 2023 on his DevDay diverse new enhancements, improvements and possibilities.
One of the highlights is definitely the new "GPT-4 Turbo model", which offers an impressive 128K context window support and is more efficient than its predecessor. This means that instead of a few thousand characters text, there are now very long input quantities such as complete PDFs, books and similar, with well over 100.000 characters of text, and understand them. Most recently, OpenAI has come to the fore through developments by other providers, such as Claude 2 from Anthropic, in this respect under pressure.
GPT 4 Turbo should not only be more powerful, but also cheaper by making input tokens three times cheaper and output tokens twice cheaper than in the predecessor model GPT-4 are priced.
