Important information for all Smartstore users: Significant changes are coming to the Amazon Pay checkout technology. Amazon Pay will discontinue support for the outdated Legacy Checkout solution v1 on March 31, 2025.
As of May 17, 2024, new customers will no longer be onboarded with the current Amazon Pay Checkout v1 solution. Until March 31, 2025, you can continue using Smartstore 4 and Amazon Pay v1. However, after this date, an upgrade to Smartstore 5 and Amazon Pay Checkout v2 will be necessary. The key difference in version 2 is that the selection of payment method and delivery address occurs on Amazon and no longer through the Amazon widgets in the Smartstore checkout process. Therefore, v2 is fundamentally closer to PayPal.
