The first (1. Smartstore Translate – Basic Content) step relates to the basic software, i.e., the open-source software that we offer as "Community Edition" for free. It involves translations of the backend and frontend without content. Currently, we offer 34 pre-translated languages. Employees can use their preferred language in the backend to execute administrative tasks. The same goes for the frontend: Here, these 34 languages are freely available for all elements without content you wish to offer or sell.
The second (2. CRS Online Translator – Custom Content for Globetrotters) means of internationalization concerns the content you offer. Regardless of the basic software, this plug-in provides an additional function that fully automates your daily work. You only need to take care of the basics of the language and make changes there. All other languages are automatically translated by artificial intelligence. The translation quality of these advanced AI tools exceeds 98%.
The third (3. Advanced AI Functions – Custom Content) option for using your content for internationalization is relatively new and available starting with Smartstore version 6. It involves AI-assisted functions available via the services ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Claude from the Premium Edition. The AI plugin for Smartstore revolutionizes the management of your content and greatly facilitates the creation and optimization of texts. With Version 6.1 we go one step further:
- In addition to the proven ChatGPT support, the DeepSeek and Gemini models are now available.

RTL Language Support (Right-to-Left)
One of the greatest linguistic challenges of globalization is the so-called RTL Language Support (Right-to-Left). We have naturally addressed this issue and optimized our software accordingly.
This means: You only need to set a base language for RTL once. When a customer then selects this language, all content is automatically displayed from right to left. This feature is an indispensable part of the successful internationalization of your online shop and greatly eases your daily work.
